When you hear the word “re-purpose” what first comes to mind? Do you think of someone “copying and pasting” their sales letter and putting it online? Maybe you think of someone having an audio recording transcribed and then calling it an “ebook.” While the term “re-purpose has gotten a bad reputation there are marketing methods you can put into action that will save you time and help you generate more leads from each piece of marketing that you create.

1. Videos – When you are recording videos you are separating yourself from your competition. Most business owners and individuals only think of YouTube when they think of video but you can have a much greater reach than that. To give yourself advantages with video consider posting your videos to other sites. Write different descriptions each time you post the video to see which description piques interest most. Don’t stop at third party sites either, write a article or blog post about the video topic and include the video on your site.

2. Sales Letters – If you haven’t mailed out that sales letter in awhile it’s time to dust it off! With some minor enhancements sales letters can be quickly moved online. The most obvious would be to make your traditional sales letter an online sales letter, but think bigger than that! Look at the pages of your letter and see which parts could be made a smaller article or page. You can post those pieces as articles, blog posts, or even a note on Facebook. You could transform 1 letter into 5 or 6 different pieces and spread it across different platforms.

3. Postcards – Due to their visual nature postcards are one of the most logical pieces to make the transition to your online marketing. Have your designer give you a simple digital version of your postcard to allow you to extend your reach. For example if you had a postcard that was about a sale you could write a blog post about that sale with the postcard right as the very first image they see. The copy that you couldn’t fit on the postcard could easily become your article. Use that same image over on your fan page as well (Facebook loves photos).

Re-using different pieces of your marketing does take an investment in time, but it is much quicker than creating 6 or 7 different new pieces of marketing daily. Get the most out of each piece you develop to start increasing your leads today.
